[Ren kind of knows he's about to die for this, but like, it's fine. Regardless, he's dressed, his knife is nearby in case he really needs it, and tries to look soooooo cool in one of the chairs around the room. Much to both of their inevitably dismay, the spring rooms are... well, exactly what you'd expect them to be. Colorful. Comfortable. Encouraging some good cuddle time.
That's not what's coming. But Ren can dream for a second before he gets stabbed.]

I learned that my roommate is half mutant spider. The blacksmith man, Tony, is making me a rapier and if he finds gunpowder will make a rifle too.
[Alright, so, Ren feels like an idiot. This isn't a new development, but it's an especially bad time for it to be happening, considering the date. Even if it wasn't... he feels like he owes Akechi something, for all this. Or maybe he just wants to.
So he's outside Akechi's room, taking his quietest steps and trying to leave a little wrapped package, a note, and a small gathering of flowers tied in a red ribbon. Just something simple, and something that he can have without looking at Ren and having to deal with... well, him.
This will be fine. This will be totally fine.]

[When they heard there was going to be another party, Ren wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Sure, he was going to go- they both were- and Akechi absolutely saw what he was planning on wearing and forced him into something better. But it's a bit into this party and Ren still hasn't seen the other boy. Usually it's a lot easier to find him in a crowd (at least for them), and he's starting to get worried. Did he get hurt? Is he off somewhere getting put in jail for stabbing someone again?
But just at the point where he's starting to get worried, he sees him; the soft hair, gloved hands, sharp eyes, and Ren slides up at his side exactly where he belongs. He doesn't know what the flower wrapped on his wrist is- some kind of mum, maybe?- but it also doesn't occur to him that would have anything to do with this encounter. It's Akechi. It's-- it's his Goro. This is exactly where he wants to be.]

[10 minutes have just barely come and gone before Prompto comes literally skidding into meet up with Akechi. He's a little sweaty from booking it from Noctis' room, thank the Gods his favorite Grump wasn't waiting for him since he had to leave a backup note about where he's going, but at least he's all bright smiles as he enters stage right.]
Heyaz Knight in Shining Armor! How does thou fare this day?

[For a few seconds, Ren is blissfully unaware that there is a problem. This isn't the first time that Akechi has bust into his room looking pissed as hell, and there's no way it'll be the last, so he sits up like this is a regular day and he's ready to either listen to whatever the problem is or talk Akechi down from stabbing someone. Or maybe he'll get a little stabbed. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
Until, of course, he actually sees him. The taut stance, the color on his face that's heading down his chest- he looks almost disheveled, and that is something he never is.
Wait, Akechi said something.
Wait, what?]
Are you alright? You look--
[Really hot, actually, but that's not the words, do not say those words--]
Flustered.

[Their joining up had been mostly coincidence. Someone else from the Unseelie dorm heading out for the same quest, and Nahobino had somehow talked him into teaming up. Two heads, etc etc, especially when looking for some obscure flower. As bitter and unpleasant as this new companion seemed, Nahobino had dealt with worse demons. Could've been worse.
It'd taken longer than he hoped, especially since they'd had to venture into the forest. Or the edge of the forest, because it wasn't until the trees fell away to more open grasslands towards the docks that he finally, finally managed to spot something.]
There. Do you think that's it?

[Action backdated to the March party because time isn't real]
[Yusuke does not trust this party. He doesn’t trust much of what the court rulers host, but this party in celebration of spring has him on high alert. Despite attempting to avoid the festivities, he’d been unable to stop one of the helpful fae on the floor from pinning a boutonnière to him and while annoying, Yusuke had to admit that the delicate ghost orchid pinned to his shirt was a gorgeous decoration to bear. And so he wanders the party, looking for anyone familiar to him, both already here and newly arrived.
He turns a corner, expecting to see more of the party with its soft morning light and floral decorations, but instead he finds himself standing in his home. No, no, his old home, the rundown shack that he and his fellow apprentices had lived in. He can feel the creak of rotted wood under his feet as he shifts his weight while trying to get his bearings. This is, was, his room. Why is he here? He turns and sees he is not alone. A woman sits in the corner as she delicately moves a brush against a canvas set in front of her. There is intense concentration in her eyes and it is a look that Yusuke finds terribly familiar. She is dressed in a simple white dress with black trim on the sleeves and a black band around the skirt. Her long black hair falls softly over her shoulder and the air leaves his lungs as he realizes the woman sitting in the chair is The Sayuri. His mother.
She looks up and Yusuke freezes. But her attention is not on him but on Madarame, who is standing near her and the canvas, smiling. They’re talking and the words are muffled, a soft white noise vaguely in the shape of language. He strains to understand what they are saying but then out of the corner of his eye he sees a toddler. The toddler sits on the floor with colored pencils and is concentrating just like his mother as he presses his red pencil deep into paper in a vivid circle. Yusuke’s throat is tight as he watches the boy go around and around until a loud thud is heard. Both present and past Yusuke turn their heads to see their mother laid out on the ground shaking violently. Madarame leaves in a rush and baby Yusuke stands, dropping his pencil as he toddles over to his mother.
"Mama?"
She doesn’t answer him- can’t answer him- as she chokes and gasps for air, her face pressed into the splintering old wooden floor. Present Yusuke’s hands are shaking as the boy, tenderly and slowly, slides his tiny hands under her trembling head. You’re supposed to protect the head arises unbidden in Yusuke’s mind, a certainty of fact that feels carved into his bones.
"Mama!?"
Loud footsteps come from behind them and present Yusuke sees Madarame return to stand in the doorway. He doesn’t move, his face bathed in shadow and merely watches the woman struggle and the tiny toddler trying to cradle her. As his mother falls quiet, Yusuke sees as his younger self look back to Madarame and speak in a wavering voice.
"Sensei… mama doesn’t look good. Please make her better?"
He thinks Madarame says something as he walks back into the room. Probably his name and some other nonsense as he takes the toddler’s hand and leads him away, the boy turning back to look at the prone body of his mother. The memory fades and Yusuke stumbles, collapsing against a hedge as he returns to the present. His breathing is shallow and skin paper white as he stares wide eyed into nothing.]

[Sneaking into the Unseelie dorms has already become second nature for him. Sneaking in general has, but he needs to go see Futaba on a regular basis.
But that's not where he's going today.
It wasn't hard to get Akechi's room number. Morgana sits at the door, making sure nobody's around and watching, and then claws at the door.]
Akechi! [Hopefully his roommate isn't in. He can't imagine anyone else would be visiting Akechi, after all! Haha!] We need to talk.
[...He actually sounds serious, this time.]

[While this wasn't the direct impetus for figuring things out with Akechi, it is an incredible, incredible perk. Getting the privilege of taking the other boy apart with only his mouth is still something that he thought he'd never get to do, but he relishes it every time-- and it helps that it's also very, very hot. Ren's own legs are spread slightly where he sits, his fully hard cock bobbing with each movement of his body as Akechi pulls and pushes him around. It's so fucking hot. This whole thing is so fucking hot. God he's lucky.
Ren can't actually respond with his mouth currently occupied, so in lieu of words, he simply hums right over Akechi's clit, just barely scraping it with his teeth before angling his jaw to plunge his tongue back into the other boy's cunt. Meanwhile, one hand clenches into Akechi's thigh, the other reaching down to stroke himself as if the older boy might not notice he's also looking to get off on this.]

[Once Nancy's been made to know it's Akechi's birthday, she wastes no time in providing him with a gift. Wrapped in a plain box with a simple rose gold ribbon is a dagger. While colored gold, Akechi can be sure it's not real gold, so the dagger can be used regularly. Just in case he wants to stab more people. Attached is a note with surprisingly fancy handwriting, though closer inspection will show an unsure hand:

text || un: ribbon || BACKDATED To day after Sumire dies
[When she wakes up, she's screaming and gasping for air and clawing against her blankets. Even when the realization that she's alive and in bed hits her, she can't stop sobbing against the weight of her experience. Good thing Peter seems to be gone already.
It's hard to piece the events together - while she remembers needing to get Futaba out, the fear and extreme pain of her final moments overrides almost all other memories. There's so many sensations that no person should have to experience that are now carved into her mind like a gaping wound.
But one memory that stands out is her gaze locking with Akechi's for not even the width of a second. It could be something her mind fabricated, but...
Her hands tremble uncontrollably as she types, struggling to figure out what to say.]
Seems we really do come back after dying here.

[It's a few days after the hydra attack but before his own reality shift when Yusuke attempts to find Akechi. He's pretty sure the older boy is doing better now having survived the hydra attack, but he knows that there could be some aftereffects from the hydra's venom or bite or whatever nasty thing you could get from it. So a quick check up to make sure that everything is good is in order, in his opinion.
He finally manages to track Akechi down in the library, not waiting for an invitation before he sits down next to him as he does whatever it is he was here to do. As is usual for Yusuke, he gets straight to the point.]
How are you doing?
[Upon initial glance he seems... oddly relaxed. His outfit is still coordinated but the edges seem less crisp somehow. He brings that easy grace to anything he wears and this is more casual menswear chic, with less coordination but more comfortable. It suits Akechi in a way that feels different than before.]

This is a real question and not me setting up for a joke or anything I'm serious I really need your help and you're the only guy I know to ask this

[The fact is: Yosuke died.
Yosuke died because Akechi killed him.
It was.. probably an accident? He remembers the look on Akechi's face when the realization hit, and he couldn't confirm it then. But he's had a couple of days to really go back over events himself and he's fairly certain Akechi didn't intend that to happen.
Then again, Yosuke had been kind of annoying him a lot before that.
He just doesn't know the guy well enough.
So when Yosuke is walking around outside and comes across the lake, he decides to take a few minutes. And when he sees movement, he freezes when he sees it's Akechi with another goddamn sword- Maybe if he just moves out of the way, Akechi won't be bothered.]

[Eikichi may still be bad using a Leaf, but the thing is nearly stupid-proof even for someone like him. So that does mean it's time to start bothering his fellow persona users more personally in an attempt to make friends!
Hard mode: Goro Akechi, who is according to Ren "fun once you get to know him" or something to the like, honestly all Eikichi heard was "challenge" and that got his Boss blood boiling. Besides, having been in Sumaru's school for delinquent boys, he knows a thing or two about hooligans and earning their respect. The best way to settle things and 'talk' is with fists, or in their case, with Persona. That's a bonding experience, right? He was curious about how powerful the future persona users were anyway.
So bright and early one morning, there's a picture of Eikichi pointing to the hot spring area the other hand in a throat slash gesture, like he's egging him on.]

[Ren knows, in his heart, it wasn't a good deal. There's never something completely honest about these fae, and he knows he's doing exactly what he's repeatedly told everyone else not to do. But the way Akechi looked at him, eyes wild in the bathroom with the glass in his hand, a shell of something that he should have been--
He couldn't stand it. He can't leave him that way. Akechi will understand. He has to understand.
But now not only does his price hold over him like the sword of Damocles, but he must be the one to deliver it. She pressed something into him, right into his throat, and he can feel it-- or maybe that's just the weight of what his job is now. It was a vengeful act, made to break him. And he won't let her get that on him, either.
So despite his trepidation, he swallows his fear, and approaches Akechi's room with resolve.]
